Bits

Privacy Policy

Updated October 8, 2026

Bits is built to be private: each Bit is shared only between the two people who made it. This page explains what we collect, why, where it's kept and how to delete it.

What we collect

How we use it

We use this information to run Bits: to sign you in, connect you with friends, put your Bits together, send you notifications, keep the app safe (reviewing reports, enforcing blocks and bans), and understand what to improve. We don't sell your information, we don't show ads, and we don't share your clips with anyone except the other person in the Bit.

Where it lives

We use a few service providers to run Bits. They handle your information only to provide their service to us:

How long we keep it

Unfinished Bits are deleted after 24 hours, along with their clips. Finished Bits stay in your Vault until either of you deletes your account, or until we remove a Bit after a report. When you delete your account, everything is removed: your account details, your photo, and every Bit you are in (for both people in each Bit). Reports are kept as a safety record, without the deleted Bit or account attached. Product analytics events about how the app was used (never clips) may be kept.

Your rights

You can change your photo in the app and delete your account anytime in Settings. To ask for a copy of your information or for help with anything on this page, email support@joinbits.app. Depending on where you live, you may have other rights over your information, and we'll honor them.

Children

Bits isn't for anyone under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 is using Bits, email us and we'll delete the account.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page and let you know in the app.
